A Journey Into Deliciousness
Hey everyone and welcome to Irresistible Desserts. If you made it this far, it is probably because you have a sweet tooth or are planning an awesomely, irresistible event and you are looking for sweet treats to indulge in.
My name is Valerie Douglas and I am the proud owner and head baker/decorator at Irresistible Desserts. I majored in Hospitality Management at the great Bethune Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida and that is where my love for the culinary grew.
Upon returning home to St. Maarten, in 2015, I began to work as a special education teacher, but my husband (boyfriend at the time) urged me to open shop when he realized the talent and love I had for baking. I decided to dive right in and open shop for myself. This was the original Irresistible Desserts on the Island of St. Maarten.
But God had other plans for us, and when Hurricane Irma rolled through, in 2017, my now husband and I decided to move to Willemstad Curacao (which is where I grew up). My first location here was at the Goisco shopping complex. It was a great location and we were blessed with a great customer base. We had plans to upgrade the location due to the rise in business, but then COVID hit. Since then we tried two other locations, but we were still struggling from the effects of the previous years.
Now we are operating from home, but we are hoping to be in a space soon where we can welcome you in to truly experience all that we have to offer.
